Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are building up partnership in the energy sector

Today, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Minister of Energy Zh. Mirzamakhmudov met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Annamammedov, who is in charge of the construction and industrial complex.

During the talks, it was noted that in bilateral relations great attention is paid to the development of partnerships in the trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural fields, as well as in the field of interaction between the business communities of the two states.

The parties also emphasized the relevance of the implementation of bilateral, large-scale projects, including the construction of a power line.

A meeting was held between the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Amanov, who is in charge of the fuel and energy complex, and the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Zh. Mirzamakhmudov, who arrived in Turkmenistan at the head of the delegation of his country.

During the talks, the parties considered issues of expanding the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership, where interaction in the fuel and energy sector occupies an important place.

The parties exchanged views on the implementation of agreements and agreements previously reached at various levels, in particular in the energy sector.

In this regard, special attention was paid to the implementation of the tasks set during the trilateral summit of the heads of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan this year.

Also, special attention was paid to the issues of intensifying the creation of a multivariate system for the supply of Turkmen energy resources to foreign countries, and primarily to neighboring states.

The parties noted that the transformations taking place in the two states, as well as the rich resource, colossal economic and export potential create opportunities for strengthening effective cooperation in various fields.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to conclude a new agreement on the supply of Turkmen natural gas to Uzbekistan.
