Turkmenistan and Georgia aim to increase the volume of international road transport

The issues of increasing the volume of international road transport were discussed during the regular meeting of the Joint Commission on Road Transport between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

The meeting was held at the Agency "Turkmenawtoulaglary" of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was co-chaired by the heads of relevant departments of the two countries. In particular, the head of the Agency "Turkmenawtaulaglary" Guvanchmyrat Akmammedov and the Agency for Land Transport of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Gamkrelidze.

According to the website of the Agency "Turkmenawtolaglary", the parties gave a positive assessment of the current partnership between Turkmenistan and Georgia in the field of transport and noted the high potential for its development in the future.

A new agreement on international road transport between Turkmenistan and Georgia was signed on August 30, 2017. The document makes it possible to exchange annual road permits for international cargo transportation on a bilateral basis.
