This year, in the Dashoguz velayat, mung bean is planted on seven thousands 300 hectares, and noyba (beans) on 410 hectares. Taking into account the accumulated experience of using them as intermediate crops, farmers intend to get at least 15 centners of crops from each hectare.
Such production volumes will provide consumers with high-quality nutritious products containing a large amount of healthy substances and maintain affordable prices for them.
The largest producers of legumes in the region are the farmers of the Akdepe etrap, where it is planned to harvest over two and a half thousand tons of mung bean and one hundred and eighty tons of noyba (beans), and these crops are also planted in large quantities in Koneurgench and Boldumsaz and S. Turkmenbashy etrap.
It should be noted that the agrarians of the velayat annually successfully cope with the tasks of harvesting mung bean and noyba (beans), which are effective for use in crop rotation, which contributes to an increase in the production of grain and vegetable protein in the country, and the strengthening of the fertile soil layer. An important advantage of leguminous crops is that they tolerate transportation well and have a long shelf life.
