The fall season of horse racing is traditionally held in Ashgabat and the regions of the country.
Seven races were held in the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex.
Fifty horses took part in the races to overcome distances of 1400, 1600, 2000 and 2200 meters. The spectacular competition made the fans in the stands worried.
Light, agile, temperamental and very efficient Akhal-Teke horses raced at full speed. The young rider Parakhat Orazov and his steed Kysmat became the best at a distance of 2200 meters. The result was 2 minutes 47 seconds.
In the final of the competition, the riders who won first places in all seven races were awarded prizes.
Horse races are held regularly in our country. The purpose of the competition is to involve young people in equestrian sports, popularize the centuries–old traditions and the rich experience of the Turkmen people in the field of horse breeding, as well as increase the world fame of "paradise" horses, which are a national treasure and pride.
Akhal-Teke horses are famous for their incredible endurance and high speed. They are able to travel long distances without fatigue and maintain high speed for a long time. Due to these qualities, Akhal-Teke horses are often used in long-distance horse racing.
In addition, Akhal-Teke horses are distinguished by their elegant appearance and graceful movements. They have a slim build, a long flexible neck and a beautiful head with expressive eyes.
Every year, Turkmenistan hosts an International Beauty Contest among Akhal-Teke racehorses, where thoroughbred horses are chosen, whose pedigree goes back to well-known breeding lines.
