The scientific and practical conference "The importance of using "green" technologies in the concept of "smart city" was held at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by scientists, teachers of universities and scientific centers.
Reports were made by representatives of the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the Hydrogen Energy Center at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute and the Transport and Logistics Research Center of the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications.
Speaking about the trends of sustainable development, the introduction of "green" technologies on the example of Turkmenistan’s first "smart" city of Arkadag, the speakers noted the importance of environmental improvement in creating a comfortable urban environment.
Since its opening, the city of Arkadag has become the owner of many certificates confirming its uniqueness, modernity, as well as commitment to the "green" strategy.
One of the tools to achieve the sustainable development goals of smart cities is the use of a variety of technologies that allow covering a wide range of problems, from innovations in industry to innovations in management.
The introduction of "green" technologies (resource-saving and eco-oriented) is designed to ensure a balanced solution to the tasks of socio-economic development, preservation of a favorable environmental conditions and natural resource potential, taking into account the long-term perspective.
These goals are followed by the implementation of the National Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052.
Work continues on the collection and scientific analysis of the effectiveness of renewable energy sources. There are carried out Research and visualization of their potential in the conditions of different regions of Turkmenistan.
The role of "green" technologies in the formation of "smart" cities is intensively growing, covering almost all spheres of life.
Today, the new city of Arkadag is the only city in Central Asia where initially and completely all life support systems are under the control of electronic systems. The entire infrastructure in the city is energy-efficient. There is an environmentally safe public transport – electric buses and electric cars that do not produce harmful emissions and run on electric traction.
Electronic control systems are functioning in all buildings. Each apartment is managed according to the "smart home" principle.
The consistent introduction of information and communication technologies, the transformation of urban economy towards digitalization contributes to the growth of quality and productivity of urban services in order to increase the comfort of life for the population.
Concern for the well-being of the Turkmen people is a priority of the domestic and foreign policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. All the transformations carried out in our country correspond to the principle put forward by the Hero-Arkadag "The state is for Man!".
