The High Technology Week has ended in Turkmenistan

The High Technology Week «Sustainable Economic Development: Innovation and Industrialization», held in a hybrid format by the university together with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Turkmenistan and the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat from 18th to 21st of September, ended at the Oguzhan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan.

The Week of High and Innovative Technologies included events aimed at sharing knowledge and experience in the field of technology development, promoting digital innovation and demonstrating how it contributes to building an inclusive and sustainable society.

As reported on the UNDP website in Turkmenistan, the event opened with the International Conference on High Technologies and Innovation. It was attended by leading specialists, international experts invited by the UNDP and the OSCE, who provided a comprehensive overview of global trends in technology, innovation and digitalization.

The conference was also attended by members of the teaching staff and students of higher schools of Turkmenistan - the International University of Humanities and Development, the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of the country, the Oguzhan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan, the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of the country.

Presentations of the participants covered topics such as green economy, artificial intelligence for sustainable development, cybersecurity, automated urban ecosystem and the role of youth in building green and smart cities.

The conference served as a platform for active interaction between interested government agencies, educational institutions and Turkmen youth with representatives of high-tech centers and companies, including UrbanistAI, World Metaverse Council, Drees & Sommer, Jerusalem Center for Urban Innovation of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, CITYSHOB company and young environmental activists.

During the week, UNDP and OSCE experts gave lectures for students of the Oguzkhan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan. The lectures highlighted the importance of promoting sustainable urban development by harnessing the potential of technology and innovation, introduced new perspectives on technology entrepreneurship, and provided a platform for interactive discussions on how to harness technology innovation for sustainable growth.

The Week's program also included the student intellectual competition «Brain Ring» on the theme «Youth and Innovation». The competition allowed to reveal the creative abilities and talents of young people, to increase their awareness of modern innovative technological solutions.

In general, the High Technology Week in Turkmenistan «Sustainable Economic Development: Innovation and Industrialization» has become a broad platform for exchanging opinions and creating new connections aimed at deepening scientific cooperation and promoting innovation. The event provided an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge about the latest achievements in the field of high innovative technologies, develop the creative and innovative potential of young people and study the role of high technologies in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals formulated by the UN and of critical global importance.
