The current president of the ITF David Haggerty, who was elected for a third term from 2023 to 2027, won the vote by a large margin. During the congress, Luca Santilli, Executive Director of Tennis Development of the ITF, noted the achievements of the Turkmen Tennis Federation over the past 4 years, which were set as an example of successful development to other national federations.

The event also included a two-day conference dedicated to the development of tennis in the world and a number of bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation between national federations.

At its conclusion, a doubles tennis tournament was held among the delegates of the congress, which was attended by 96 leaders from 147 countries. As a result, Turkmenistan was awarded a gold medal, which was brought to us by the head of the National Tennis Federation, Eziz Dovletov, who played in a pair with Aditya Kanna from India. In total, they won 9 victories.

It is noteworthy that in the final match, the opponent of our compatriot was the legendary Mark Woodforde from Australia, who is the former first racket of the world in doubles, was the 19th racket of the world in singles, a 12-time winner of Grand Slam tournaments.

At the official reception held on the occasion of the election of the new leadership of the International Tennis Federation and the conference, the winners of the tournament were awarded medals by ITF President David Haggerty. There it was also announced the opening of applications for ITF committees and working groups, the reception of which will last until October 16, 2023. At the discretion of the leadership of the International Tennis Federation, the most successful national leaders will be elected to these committees and groups, where we hope that our representative will be re-elected for 2024-2025.
