Students from Turkmenistan performed brilliantly and showed excellent results at the International Mathematical Olympiad named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, which took place in Nukus, capital of Karakalpakstan, at the end of October.

Turkmen students won a total of 16 medals of different levels of distinction in the mathematics competition: 4 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze.

It is worth noting that 35 students from Turkmen universities were sent to Uzbekistan as part of the national team of talented mathematicians, and almost half of them returned home with well-deserved medals. In addition, two of our students - Myratgeldi Annamukhamedov (International University of Humanities and Development) and Dovlet Gurdov (State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan) were awarded the title of "Absolute Champion".

Turkmenistan was also well represented at the Olympiad by students from the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after S.Seydi, Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A.Niyazov, Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, Turkmen Agricultural Institute, and Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan.

The excellent preparation of our students for the Olympiad was provided by their university professors - experienced teachers and kind mentors, always ready to impart valuable knowledge to students, develop their abilities, and inspire them to new successes and achievements.

Over 150 students from Central Asian countries: Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan took part in the Olympiad. During the competition, participants competed in solving complex mathematical problems, which evaluated the talents and knowledge of young people in the field of mathematical analysis, linear algebra, and combinatorics.

The jury consisted of international experts, scientists, professors, and experienced practicing teachers from the CIS countries, including our country.

The Olympiad was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan in 2018. The organizers of the competition are the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in conjunction with the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Karakalpakstan.

The main goal of the Olympiad is to promote the great scientist's immense contribution to the development of global science and civilization at the international level, as well as to support talented students, their broad involvement in the study of fundamental and exact sciences, and the expansion of international cooperation in the field of science.
