President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the 16th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Tashkent, called on the countries of the Organization to develop cross-border trade and partnership in the field of small and medium-sized businesses.
The head of Turkmenistan noted that in order to increase trade turnover between the ECO countries, it is necessary to actively use the opportunities of cross-border and regional trade. According to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in this context there is valuable experience that requires the revival, use and enrichment of the centuries-old traditions and customs of the peoples of the region, taking into account the realities of our time. The head of state emphasized that for this it is necessary to create a favourable transboundary environment and stimulate regional cooperation, which is a system of contractual advantages and priorities.
«We attach great importance to intensifying business relations through small and medium-sized businesses, the production of certain types of industrial goods, agricultural products, establishing cooperation in the service sector and other areas», –the head of the Turkmen state further noted.
In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan proposed to consider the proposal to create an «Information Portal», which includes specific information, proposals, business projects and other necessary information for wider awareness of the opportunities and intentions of countries in terms of expanding multilateral cooperation.
