Issues of intensifying Turkmen-Saudi economic cooperation were discussed

On the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a meeting was held on the digital system between the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, in charge of the fuel and energy complex, B. Amanov, and the Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Khalid Al-Falih, at which issues related to the further development of relations were discussed.

At the meeting, the areas of work carried out within the framework of the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the negotiations during the working visit of the President of Turkmenistan in July this year to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the Summit of the Heads of State of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Central Asian Countries, and also signed agreements.

Also, the Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said that he had been appointed head of the joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation on the Saudi side.

Touching upon the activities of this commission, the Turkmen side emphasized that President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, along with partnership with the states of the region, attach special importance to the development of Turkmen-Saudi interaction, noting the need to intensify work related to the implementation of the 7th meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which is one of the main tools for promoting bilateral relations.

In this regard, the Saudi side noted that the organization of the International Economic Forum is planned for December this year in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, inviting the Turkmen side to take part in it as an honored guest and to hold the next, 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission at the end of this forum. As reported, it is planned to send a Saudi delegation to Turkmenistan in the near future to discuss these issues.

In addition, at a meeting held through the digital system in order to strengthen and expand cooperation between the Saudi Development Fund and Turkmenistan, issues related to the direction of investment funds were raised.
