Turkmenistan welcomes guests of the World Kurash Championship

Only a few days remain until the start of the 14th World Kurash Wrestling Championship, which will take place in Ashgabat from November 23 to 28.

Today, guests and participants of this grand sports event continue to arrive in the white-marble capital.

Welcome signs saying 'Welcome to the World Kurash Championship!' greet guests at the Ashgabat International Airport, on the city streets, and on LED screens in the city center. The atmosphere is particularly festive in the Olympic Village of Ashgabat, where the opening ceremony will be held, with the participation of representatives of various sports organizations from around the world.

Among the first to arrive in Ashgabat were Mohammad Reza Nassiri Nejat (Iran), Secretary-General of the International Kurash Association (IKA), and Fatemeh Eslami (Iran), representative of the International Kurash Association (IKA).

After meeting with the leaders and staff of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports, the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Ashgabat, and the Kurash Federation of Turkmenistan, the foreign guests visited the capital's Olympic Village and familiarized themselves with the functionality of the sports complex for martial arts located on its territory.

To ensure a high organizational level of the Championship, a lot of work was done among the staff of the capital's hotels and sports volunteers to improve their qualifications.

A training seminar for volunteers was held at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.

In addition, students undergo master classes on the ability to comment on sports competitions in foreign languages. Therefore, students of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University and Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages are being trained in the building of the International Broadcasting Center of the country, where they are taught by professional presenters and sports commentators.

It is expected that 15 sets of medals - in seven men's and eight women's weight categories - will be played at the World Championship in Ashgabat, where representatives of more than 50 countries will gather.

Both foreign fans and residents of our country can buy tickets for the world championship. Currently, the sale is open at the ticket offices of the Olympic Village, "Berkarar" shopping mall (on the 1st floor) and "Ashgabat" shopping mall (on the 2nd floor).
