The state, national sports television channel of Tajikistan «Varzish» is broadcasting live the 14th World Kurash Wrestling Championship that started in Ashgabat. A representative of the TV channel, sports journalist and commentator Murodali Teshayev, told us about this.
«This is my first time in Ashgabat, although in 2017 I commented on the V Asian Games in martial arts and indoor competitions», says Murodali Teshayev. «Then I commented on wrestling, and our athletes won gold medals in belt wrestling». This year, for the first time, the Kurash Federation of Tajikistan sent seven athletes (men) in each weight category to the World Kurash Wrestling Championship.
– I was at the Olympic Games in London and Rio de Janeiro, at the Asian Games in Guangzhou (China), as well as at other major competitions. But what Turkmenistan has done in terms of organization is at the highest level. I would like to especially note the cleanliness and beauty of the city. I live in the hotel on the ninth floor and can see the entire white marble city at a glance. Thanks to the country’s sports committee and volunteers for the excellent preparation and holding of such a large-scale sporting event.
Murodali Teshayev also noted the dynamic development of the sports movement in Turkmenistan and wished victory to Turkmen athletes not only at this Championship, but also at the future Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris in 2024.
