This year marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Innovative Scientific and Educational Center at the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev.
It received its current name in 2019 when the center expanded its geographical scope and opened its Balkanabat branch. Currently, the center is actively operating in three cities of the country: Ashgabat, Balkanabat and Turkmenbashi.
The main activities of the center include basic and professional education of citizens, extracurricular training of students, organization and conduct of short-term courses; involvement of university students in science, conducting various laboratory research on the introduction of new technologies for industrial purposes; production and creation of software and computers, their mass implementation; qualification enhancement and professional retraining of specialists in the oil and gas industry and teachers; development of environmental protection regulations.
The center provides qualification enhancement and professional training for employees of domestic industry enterprises, as well as foreign companies, including "Dragon Oil," "Areti," "Eni," "Mitsubishi," "Rönesans," "Bouygues," "BKE Shelf," and others. In total, over the past 10 years, more than 540 contracts have been concluded with companies, and training has been provided to around 8,000 people based on these contracts.
It is important to note that since 2020, the center has offered the opportunity for industry specialists to enhance their qualifications in industrial safety on a licensed basis for the first time in Turkmenistan. Over the course of three years, the center has graduated 5,000 certified specialists - representatives of state and private enterprises in the country, as well as foreign companies.
This year, the number of specialized training programs offered by the center has significantly increased. In total, the center offers 176 educational programs approved by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. New training programs have been launched in such topical areas as environmental and industrial safety, refrigeration and climate systems, automation of technological processes and production, digital technologies and management, etc.
Note that in March of this year, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a laboratory of refrigeration and climate systems was established at the Innovative Scientific and Educational Center.
The laboratory is equipped with simulators that simulate the operation of industrial refrigeration machines and installations, as well as devices that allow the calculation of system capacity for different levels of performance and the evaluation of energy efficiency of heat exchange equipment.
The training of young specialists and the study of modern alternatives aimed at the safe use of natural refrigerants in various industries and the protection of the ozone layer are the primary objectives of this project, which is of great importance at the international level.
The project is organized within the framework of Turkmenistan's commitments as one of the participating states of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
The center's activities also include scientific and technical support of industries. Thus, the Center completed scientific and experimental work on introducing innovative solutions into production and increasing the productivity of operating gas wells in April this year on the basis of an agreement with the "Marygazchykarysh" Department of the State Concern "Turkmengaz".
In addition, last month the center successfully solved scientific and technical tasks in the field of development and implementation of new compositions of drilling and plugging muds based on local raw materials under an agreement with "Balkannebitgazgozleg" of the State Corporation "Turkmengeology".
Currently, the center's specialists are conducting a number of research and design work according to the technical tasks of the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex and the State Concern "Turkmengaz".
