The football players of Ashgabat's "Altyn Asyr" have been awarded the silver medals of the Turkmenistan Championship. The team of the "Turkmenaragatnashyk" agency achieved this success ahead of schedule by defeating Balkanabat's "Nebitchi" 2-1 in the 24th round.

The game was held in Buzmeyin etrap of the capital at the "Sport Toplumy" stadium.

Before this match, "Nebitchi", which was 10 points behind "Altyn Asyr", had their last chance to reduce the handicap. And initially, things were going well for the players from Balkanabat. Makhtymberdi Berenov put "Nebitchi" ahead 1-0 in the 12th minute.

The AFC Cup 2018 finalist needed 26 minutes to equalize: Khoshgeldi Khojovov restored the balance in the score. The teams went into halftime with a 1-1 tie.

In the second half, Rovshen Khalmamedov scored the second goal for the guests on the 54th minute, which turned out to be the winning goal for "Altyn Asyr".

Thus, by securing a determined victory over their closest pursuer, "Altyn Asyr" became unreachable for their opponents and won the silver medals of the national championship for the second year in a row. Yazguly Khojageldiev, 47 years old, honored coach of Turkmenistan, led the five-time winner of the Turkmenistan Cup and eight-time winner of the Super Cup of Turkmenistan to this success. The team "Altyn Asyr" has been participating in the national championship since 2008 and became the champion of Turkmenistan eight times in a row from 2014 to 2021.

Neighbors in the standings, the Mary’s "Energetik" and "Shagadam" from Turkmenbashi city, met in another match of the 24th round in Mary. Throughout both halves, the teams did not score goals against each other, and the match ended in a goalless draw.
