The «Arkadag» players won against the Ashgabat «Altyn Asyr» - 4:1 in the rescheduled match of the 17th round of the Turkmenistan championship among major league clubs.
The game took place in the Buzmeyin etrap of the capital at the Sports Toplumy stadium.
For both teams the match did not have much tournament significance. As already reported, «Arkadag», representing the city of national importance of the same name, became the champion of Turkmenistan four rounds before the end of the national championship, and «Altyn Asyr» also secured silver medals ahead of schedule.
Despite this, the clubs did not want to give in to each other and played a productive match. «Arkadag» forward Altymyrat Annadurdyyev opened the scoring in the 11th minute. After 4 minutes, Rahym Kulov leveled the situation – 1:1. In the 33rd minute, Begmyrat Bayov again brought «Arkadag» ahead – 2:1. With this result, the teams went to the break.
In the second half, Vladimir Bayramov’s team did not play to maintain the score and scored two more goals against the opponent. First, in the 49th minute, Begench Akmamedov scored from the penalty spot, and then in the 63rd minute, Begmyrat Bayov scored a double and set the final score.
Having won a major victory over the 2018 AFC Cup finalist, «Arkadag» scored 66 points in 22 matches, remaining the only team in the championship that did not lose a single point. Before the end of the national championship, the debutant of the national championship will play two more games.
The vice-championship of Turkmenistan «Altyn Asyr» has 47 points. The bronze medals in the remaining matches will be played by «Nebitchi» Balkanabat, which is in third place with 34 points, and «Ahal», which is in fifth place with 29 points and has two games in reserve. Until the end of the championship, the players from Balkanabat will play three matches, and «Ahal» – five. But Ashgabat, which is in fourth place with 30 points, has one game left to play, and therefore it can no longer claim the bronze medals of the championship.
