Progress in improving export-import operations was discussed at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. The Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan hosted the regular meeting of the interdepartmental commission on coordinating the work of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" system.
The event was attended by customs service personnel, representatives of ministries, departments and public associations. The meeting was held as part of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" project implemented by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the UN Development Programme and the UN Conference on Trade and Development.
The aim of this project is to simplify and increase the efficiency of export-import operations through implementation of the "Single Window" approach in the system of providing customs services. The project envisages increasing the operational capacity of the State Controlling Agencies involved in the customs clearance process, as well as facilitating fair trade and supporting Turkmenistan in ensuring the economic rights of its citizens.
The long-term goal of the project is to enhance state institutions, improve public finances and strengthen the economy of Turkmenistan by creating favorable conditions for foreign trade, including by representatives of private business entities, strengthening the country’s capacity for transit and expanding its participation in global and regional trade.
The meeting also included activities related to the launch of the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations."
