The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted the first elective course in economic diplomacy in the new year as part of the educational program of the university's Training Center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan.
The lecture on the topic "Globalization of the Economy: Opportunities and Challenges" was conducted by Gyzylgul Gurbanmukhamedova, a lecturer at the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the optional course, the process of globalization was extensively discussed as a process of global unification and convergence of countries, manifested in all spheres of society. The participants of the meeting jointly discussed the topic of growing interdependence of national economies of countries in the world and the role of globalization of the economy in ensuring international relations. It was emphasized that economic diplomacy is an important component of the foreign policy of our state and its international activities. The session continued in a question-and-answer format, with the lecturer providing detailed answers to students' questions and giving specific examples.
It should be noted that similar optional courses with students of the Higher School of Diplomacy, future international specialists, are regularly held. The Training Center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan was opened at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country on December 20, 2018. The main task of the center is to organize educational activities for the training and professional development of specialists through in-depth study of the course of foreign policy of Turkmenistan, primarily in the field of preventive diplomacy and initiatives aimed at effective international cooperation on issues of economy, energy, transport and water resources.
The Training Center conducts extensive explanatory work for the students, with emphasis on the significance of the conducted international activities in the priority areas of Turkmenistan's diplomacy. At the same time, in this context, the center actively engages and expands international cooperation. University professors practice the preparation of educational and methodological materials, articles of scientific, theoretical and practical nature here.
