«Turkmenistan» and «Magtymguly» became the first Turkmen ships to call at the port of Baku in the new year.
Two ships made the first voyage of the Turkmen maritime cargo fleet, which symbolizes the beginning of the year, which is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great classic Magtymguly Fragi. Vessels loaded with containers have already anchored at the Turkmenbashy international seaport.
Over the past year, automobile and passenger ships of Turkmenistan of the RO-PAX class - «Berkarar» and «Bagtyyar» - carried out uninterrupted communication on the busiest line of the Caspian Sea between the Turkmenbashy International Seaport and the Baku International Sea Trade Port.
Each of these ships carries 54 trucks and 200 passengers and completes the route in 12 hours. Other commercial shipping lines connect the Turkmenbashy international seaport with Russian ports in Astrakhan, Mahachkala and the Kazakh port of Kyryk. The closed joint stock company «Merchant Marine» strives to increase Turkmenistan's share in world trade, diversify the structure of foreign trade turnover and the country's active participation in the global economy.
