The participants of the event listened attentively to the speech of Chynar Rustemova, Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO.

As noted, our country is conducting extensive activities aimed at raising the global fame of Magtymguly Fragi, perpetuating the literary legacy of the poet and strengthening international cooperation in this direction. In accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, preparations are underway for a grand celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi on a global scale in 2024.

The participants emphasized that a series of events will be held in collaboration with UNESCO member states according to the Resolution adopted on November 21, 2023, at the plenary meeting of the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Conference. In accordance with the document, the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi's birth is included in the list of memorable dates and will be celebrated jointly with UNESCO in 2024-2025.

It was particularly highlighted that due to the immense efforts and merits of the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, comprehensive work is being carried out in the country and beyond its borders to popularize the personality of the poet, glorify his name, preserve, comprehensively study and disseminate the invaluable heritage of the Turkmen classical poet.

Together with UNESCO, rich experience has been accumulated in the field of studying and preserving unique historical heritage. As known, on May 24, 2023, the UNESCO Executive Board unanimously decided to include new documentary collections in the list. 64 documentary collections were included in the UNESCO Memory of the World International Register. The collection of manuscripts of Magtymguly Fragi, presented by Turkmenistan, was included in the Register. The collection of poems by the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi includes surviving manuscripts of his works, which were spread in the territory of Turkmenistan in the 18th-19th centuries.

As repeatedly noted by the participants, the year 2024 in Turkmenistan has been declared the year of "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi", which emphasizes the scale of the poet's creative personality, his propaganda and humanistic ideas about peace, unity, solidarity, friendship among peoples, and the rich literary heritage of the genius creator who has entered the golden fund of world literature.
