The Ashgabat City Telephone Network (ACTN) continues to actively implement GPON (Gigabit passive optical network) technology to provide high-speed internet access.

Currently, high-speed Internet is provided to high-rise residential complexes in the southern part of Ashgabat, the large residential complex "Taze Zaman" in the northwest of the capital and the residential area "Parakhat 7/2". Optical cables and ONT subscriber terminals have been installed in each building.

GPON technology is also available in the cottages of the residential complex "Choganly", houses on Senagat Street, the 11th microdistrict and houses located between Bitarap Turkmenistan Avenue and Gurbansoltan Eje Avenue.

According to the official website of the Ashgabat City Telephone Network, there are currently 17,941 GPON access points in operation in the capital.

20,000 telephone numbers have been installed in Arkadag city as part of the GPON implementation. In addition, the technology has provided residents of Arkadag city with access to 235 television channels and modern telecommunication services, including high-speed internet and telephone communication.

The quality of services provided through fiber-optic cable is significantly superior to other technologies, with high data transmission speeds of up to 100 megabits per second and stable communication quality.

The telecommunication systems in the velayats of the country are also being successfully modernized. According to "Lebaptelekom" the modern GPON connection technology has been launched in the city of Turkmenabat and etraps.

The telecommunication company "Marytelekom" has also implemented the digital telephony and internet system based on GPON technology, resulting in a significant increase in the number of high-speed internet users.
