The role of the international seaport of Turkmenbashy as a transit hub for Central Asian exports was discussed during a round table, which was held online.
The round table was aimed at introducing the services of the international seaport of Turkmenbashy, increasing transit traffic through this port, and presenting alternative cargo transportation routes that will expand trade relations between the countries of the region in the direction of other countries.
The event was organized by the Turkmen Logistics Association and the representative office of the Royal Institute of Logistics and Transport in Central Asia (CILT Central Asia) with the support of the USAID Central Asia Trade Program.
The participants discussed practical issues of transportation, including transportation through the international seaport of Turkmenbashy, schedule and rates of transportation, forwarding and logistics services, and paperwork issues.
The online meeting was held with the participation of exporters, shippers, forwarders, carriers, representatives of logistics companies from Central Asian countries, employees of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan (international seaport of Turkmenbashy, Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency), OJSC «Transport and Logistics Centre of Turkmenistan», Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) TRACECA.
