The first condition for obtaining a bountiful harvest from the land is to ensure proper growth of the crop. To do this, you need high-yielding seed material suitable for the soil and climatic conditions of Lebap velayat. That is why special attention is paid to the procurement of high-quality seeds of agricultural crops.

With the approach of spring sowing, one of the important tasks becomes the procurement of a sufficient quantity of high-quality cotton seeds, which is one of the main national resources of the country.

There are 11 cotton gin plants in the velayat, 10 of which prepare seeds for the sowing season. Among them, one can note a more streamlined organization of work at the Garabekevul cotton plant, which was opened in 2015 and is designed to process 40 thousand tons of cotton per year and produce high-quality seed cotton.

Thanks to the plant being equipped with the most advanced technologies, the dedicated work of workers and organized work, labor productivity at the enterprise is very high. This will allow cotton growers to be supplied with high-quality seeds during the sowing campaign.

In this agricultural season, in the etrap of the velayat, depending on soil and weather conditions, it is planned to sow cotton varieties «Ýolöten-39», «Ýolöten-7», «S-2606». In addition, cotton varieties such as «Ýolöten-50», «Ýolöten-53» and «Garaşsyzlyk» will be planted at the research and production testing centre located in the Sayat etrap.
