Turkmen athletes won two bronze medals at the international tournament "Karate 1 - Youth League", held in Fujairah (United Arab Emirates).
2070 athletes from 78 countries participated in the tournament, held under the auspices of the World Karate Federation (WKF), competing for medals in age categories ranging from 12 to 20 years old.
As reported to the correspondent of "GA" by the Karate-do Federation of Turkmenistan, our team was represented at the tournament by 25 athletes, 2 coaches and 4 judges of the international-class.
The bronze medalists in the Turkmenistan national team in Cadet Kumite (sparring) Male were: Alimuhammet Kakalyev, an 8th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary School № 61, and Gurbannazar Amandurdyev, a 9th-grade student of the 16th Secondary School of the Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal velayat. The first achieved this success in the weight category up to 55 kg among athletes under 14 years old, and the second - in the weight category up to 52 kg among athletes over 14 years old.
