On March 2-3, the Ashgabat Tennis Academy will host a tournament for young masters of the big racket dedicated to World Tennis Day.

The event is organized by the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan and the Ashgabat Tennis Academy, and will involve boys and girls up to 8 years old.

The goal of this competition is to promote a healthy lifestyle and attract as many children as possible to participate in tennis.

Tennis, which is played by millions of people around the world today, originated in the 12th century in France. However, the official birth year of professional tennis is considered to be 1872 when the first tennis club was founded.

World Tennis Day is a fairly young holiday. It was established by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and has been celebrated annually since 2013 on the first Monday of March, with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle and popularizing this sport.
