In accordance with the Main Program for Providing Settlements of Turkmenistan with Clean Drinking Water, large-scale work is being carried out in the regions of the country. The divisions of the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation make a worthy contribution to this matter.

One of these units is the Balkangidrogeologiýa expedition in the western region of the country. The expedition’s labor teams are engaged in exploration and identification of groundwater deposits in the velayat. The work carried out by the expedition promotes solving such important problems as meeting the population’s needs for clean drinking water and improving the water supply of agricultural land and pastures.

Over the past year, the company fulfilled geological exploration work 28 linear meters more than it was planned. The volume of work performed under the concluded contracts amounted to 81 linear meters. Also, in 2023 geologists of the expedition drilled four wells, the depth of which, depending on the characteristics of the soil, ranges from 70 to 250 meters. These figures indicate the effectiveness of work on the scientific study of groundwater reserves in the velayat.

Currently, Balkan hydro geologists are reassessing the exploitable reserves of fresh and low-salt waters of the Janahyr underground deposit in Gyzylarbat etrap and precise exploration of groundwater in the Magtymguly-Chendir section in Magtymguly etrap.

The current work pace shows that during these two months of the current year, the specialists of the Balkangidrogeologiýa enterprise have achieved high labor results.
