The final round of the State Olympiad in Foreign Languages was held at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azady among students enrolled in short-term language courses in educational institutions, regardless of their form of ownership. It was attended by 217 young people studying in the capital and velayat training centres, who successfully passed the tests of the previous two rounds and received the right to compete for prizes during the final round.

The competitions were held in two disciplines - English and Russian for students of four age levels. The first age level covered language course students aged 12-13 years, the second - 14-15 years old, the third - 16-18 years old and the fourth - over 16 years old.

Contestants of all age levels were tested on their knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, reading and listening skills of the relevant foreign language. The tasks for students of the fourth age level were prepared according to the internationally recognized methodology for assessing language knowledge.

Participants in the final round competed for 1 first place, 2 second places, 3 third places in each discipline and each age level, which in total amounted to 48 prizes. The best knowledge of the English language was demonstrated by Bahar Atayeva, Aygozel Halilova, Selbi Akmyradova and Zubeyda Jumagylyjova, who took first place in the corresponding age levels. In Russian language competitions at four age levels, the first places were taken by Aygul Gulmyradova, Selbi Orazova, Bahar Kurbanbayeva and Dovletgeldi Alyyev, respectively. Almost all winners study in private language courses.

During the competition, students of the courses of the Turkmenabat branch of the enterprise «Zehin ýoly», the private enterprise «Kämil bilim», the enterprise «Altyn göreç», located in Mary velayat, and the enterprise «Belent bilim» distinguished themselves. The desire to improve their knowledge of foreign languages was demonstrated by students of the courses of the educational organization «Bilim güzeri» from Mary velayat, and the educational organizations «Zehinli nesil» and «Merdem ýaşlar» from Dashoguz velayat. In general, prize-winning places were taken by students of language courses from 16 training centers and their branches located in various regions of the country, which indicates the successful implementation of the Concept of Improving Foreign Language Teaching in Turkmenistan.

The winners of the State Olympiad in Foreign Languages were awarded diplomas from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and valuable gifts. Representatives of the organizing committees, panels of judges and groups of observers received certificates of honor from the Ministry of Education for their active participation in organizing and conducting the competition. The festive atmosphere of the award ceremony for the winners and participants of the competition was enhanced by musical performances.
