Turkmenistan hosted events to study international experience in the field of energy efficiency.

This is a training seminar and international conference on the topic «Prospects for the introduction of «green» innovative technologies for energy efficiency in the electricity industry of Turkmenistan».

The events are part of the implementation of a joint project of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Development Program «Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza». They are organized in cooperation with the project «Sustainable Energy Connections in Central Asia», funded by the European Union.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, teachers and students of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, specialists from the Research and Production Centre for Renewable Energy Sources at this higher educational institution.

Participants got acquainted with innovative technologies for ensuring energy efficiency and studied methods for conducting energy surveys. The work carried out jointly with experts from the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the State Energy Institute and UNDP on the development of regulatory legal acts in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources was presented. There was also a lecture for the teaching staff and students of the State Energy Institute.

During the international conference «Prospects for the introduction of «green» innovative technologies for energy efficiency in the electricity industry of Turkmenistan», work with youth in promoting clean energy was discussed.
