The 4^th round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship among major league clubs ended with two matches in Arkadag and Ashgabat.

The focus of his attention was the match that took place in the first «smart» city of the country, where the current champion of Turkmenistan «Arkadag» hosted the «Ahal» team, which had taken the lead from the first rounds.

The home team opened the scoring quite quickly. This was done in the 10^th minute by Velmyrat Ballakov, who accurately shot from the penalty area line into the bottom corner of the goal to the right of the goalkeeper.

In the 38^th minute, Alibek Abdurahmanov pulled the goal back, sending the ball low from 7 meters into the right corner of Rahat Japarov's goal.

And yet, the teams went into the break with the score 2:1 in favour of «Arkadag» after, in the second minute of stoppage time, Arslanmyrat Amanov converted the penalty awarded for a foul on Altymyrat Annadurdyyev.

The second half of the meeting also passed with an advantage for Vladimir Bayramov’s team, who scored two more goals against «Ahal». In the 63^rd minute, Altymyrat Annadurdyyev scored with a long-range strike, and in the 67^th minute, Begench Akmammedov scored the end of the match with a header.

Having won the third major victory in a row, this time with a score of 4:1, the «Arkadag» players displaced the Ahal team, which suffered its first defeat, from first place. Both clubs have 9 points, but Serdar Geldiyev’s team has the worst goal difference. At the same time, «Arkadag» played one less match.

After two defeats at the start from «Shagadam» - 1:2 and «Arkadag» - 0:3, the first victory in the 2024 Turkmenistan Championship was won by the country's vice-champion «Altyn Asyr», who prevailed over the bronze medalist of last year's championship in Balkanabat «Nebitchi» - 2 :1. The game took place in the Babarap gengeshlik of the Gokdepe etrap of the Ahal velayat. The winners scored: Selim Nurmyradov (17^th minute) and Vahit Orazsahedov (50^th minute). The losers scored a goal on the score of Myratdurdy Bayramov (53^rd).

After this victory, «Altyn Asyr» rose to sixth place in the standings with 3 points, pushing «Nebitchi» to seventh thanks to a better goal difference.

In the scorers' dispute, Altymyrat Annadurdyyev («Arkadag») took the lead with 4 goals. Alibek Abdurahmanov and Yazgylych Gurbanov (both «Ahal») scored 3 goals each.

The 5^th round of the Turkmenistan football championship will open on the 2^nd of April with the «Ashgabat» - «Arkadag» match. And it will end on the 3^rd of April with the meetings: «Kopetdag» - «Shagadam», «Energetik» - «Merv» and «Ahal» - «Altyn Asyr».
