The Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater hosted a concert of the a cappella group from Alaska with the choir of the Turkmen State Music School named after Danatar Ovezov.

There were many children among the audience in the hall. This was because the repertoire of the American trio included many songs from Disney cartoons. For the same reason, the concert organizers invited the children from the school to perform together. The a cappella group consists of Adriana Latonio, Lisa Hawkins and Molly Dieni. Their main difference from other pop vocalists is that these singing mischievous girls perform on stage without musicians. For the past five years, they have been working together without musical instruments, using a technique called beatboxing. The girls mimic playing different instruments, and the audience in the hall "hears" the sounds of percussion, oboe and saxophone.

Songs from the cartoons "The Jungle Book", "Cinderella", "Encanto" and "The Little Mermaid" were performed in this way. In addition to that, the group's concert program included popular pop songs that the vocalists performed while dancing and accompanying with microphone tapping and finger snapping.

In preparation for the concert, the girls learned two songs on the words of Magtymguly - "Gozum Dushdi" and "Turkmenin", and performed them together with the choir of the school. The concert ended with the song "Hey Jude", conducted by Lisa Hawkins. At the request of the audience for an encore, the choir members performed the last verse of this song once again.

Aziza Babajanova and Tatiana Mamedova, first-year students of the music school, shared their impressions of this project:

"The management of our school, knowing that we had completed English language courses, involved us in the project as translators. I translated from English into Turkmen, and Tanya translated into Russian," says Aziza.

Tatiana joined the conversation: "By the way, we taught the American girls some of our words that they used while working with the choir. We need more projects like this that broaden horizons, develop professionally, and bring interesting notes to life".

It should be added that the a cappella group also performed successfully in Dashoguz.
