The development of the authorized economic operator program in Turkmenistan was discussed during a meeting between the delegation of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The visit was organized as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two departments.
Guests from China noted that the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is currently actively exploring all aspects of the AEO institution for its further effective implementation. In this context, great importance is attached to the study of the Chinese experience.
As part of this visit, a seminar was organized with the participation of both customs officers and members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. Chinese experts shared their experience in implementing this program and spoke about the prospects of this mechanism.
The delegation of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China was also familiarized with the activities of customs authorities in Turkmenistan. Guests were presented with a video that describes the customs service, measures taken to improve it and its achievements over the last period.
The visit of the Chinese customs officers ended with a visit to the customs house of the city of Arkadag, where they had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the infrastructure of the administrative building.
The Authorized Economic Operator Program is a partnership program implemented by many Customs administrations as a mechanism to both secure and facilitate global trade by ensuring the buy-in of both Customs and traders.
