The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan announced the winners and prize-winners of subject Olympiads among 11th grade students of secondary schools of the country, conducted by the university jointly with the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.
The online subject Olympiads in the history of Turkmenistan, mathematics, English and Turkmen languages were held in two rounds under the motto "Watanyň daýanjy – bilimli ýaşlar, Arkadagly Gahryman Serdaryň guwanjy ýaşlar!" ("Youth is the support of the Fatherland, Youth is the pride of Arkadagly Hero Serdar!").
According to the results of the Olympiads, Orazmuhammet Kakabaev, a student of Secondary School No. 1 in Mary, Mary velayat, was awarded the highest award - the Grand Prix.
The first places were won by Yusupbay Yangibayev, a student of the Ashgabat Specialized Boarding School named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi, and Maksat Babageldiev, a student of the capital’s Secondary School No. 135.
The second places were awarded to schoolgirls from the Sakarchage etrap of Mary velayat - Aygul Sakhedova (Specialized School No. 35 with in-depth study of foreign languages) and Ogulgozel Dovletova (Secondary School No. 32).
The third places were received by high school students from Balkanabat, Balkan velayat - Zeynep Geldiyeva (Secondary School No. 22 with in-depth study of English, physics and mathematics), Kurmammet Nobatov (Secondary School No. 17), as well as Makhriban Azadova, a student of Secondary School No. 21 in Ashgabat.
In total, about five hundred high school students from schools of the capital and all velayats of the country took part in the Olympiads and demonstrated their abilities and knowledge.
The Olympiads were timed to coincide with the International Day of Education, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly resolution on December 3, 2018, in recognition of the high role of education in achieving global peace and universal sustainable development.
The Olympiads aimed to increase the intellectual potential of the country's youth, assist in career guidance for schoolchildren, develop their talents, and identify the most gifted and capable students.
