The 10th round match in Mary between "Merv" and "Nebitchi" from Balkanabat marked the start of the second round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship.

This was the second game between the two opponents in the current season. In the first round, "Merv" won away 1:0. The same score was recorded in the return match. The victory for the Mary team was secured in the 84th minute by Guvanchmyrat Berdimyradov's accurate strike.

"Nebitchi" finished the game in the minority due to Serdar Gulyyev's dismissal in the 96th minute of added time.

By ending their two-match winless streak, "Merv" drew level on points with "Akhal", who occupies third place with 15 points, although "Akhal" has played one game fewer.

The second position with 18 points is held by the capital club "Altyn Asyr". "Arkadag", reigning champion of Turkmenistan, representing the club of the same name from the city of state significance, leads the championship with a perfect record of 24 points after 8 games.

"Nebitchi" with 12 points occupies fifth place, ahead of the sixth-placed "Shagadam" from Turkmenbashi, due to their victory in the first-round.

The 10th round will conclude with the following matches: "Kopetdag" - "Ashgabat"; "Shagadam" - "Altyn Asyr"; "Energetik" - "Akhal".
