The conference hall of the State Museum of Fine Arts hosted a scientific-practical conference in honor of the 100th anniversary of the People's Artist of Turkmenistan Aykhan Hajiyev.
In their speeches, the distinguished guests - Chairman of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, academician Akmal Nuridinov, Professor of the I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University Yuristanbek Shygaev, Professor of Art History of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanarbek Beristenov, Chairman of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Tajikistan Nargis Khamidova - noted the importance and strength of cultural ties between artists of Turkic countries, the commonality of artistic directions in painting.
Director of the Museum Ismail Orazov opened the conference with a report "Aykhan Hajiyev - the coryphaeus of Turkmen fine arts". Then, Aykhan Hajiyev's daughter, Oguljeren Hajiyeva, a candidate of science in the theory and history of architecture, shared her memories of her father's life and work.
From her story, the audience learned many interesting things about the outstanding Turkmen artist. Professor of the International University of Oil and Gas Nuryagdy Sukhanov also shared his memories of his colleague.
Art critics and well-known artists, including Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan Azat Annayev, People's Artists of Turkmenistan Babasary Annamyradov and Saragt Babayev, also shared their observations on the creative features of the artist Aykhan Hajiyev, his worldview and talented transfer to the canvas of the events of a difficult time in the history of the Turkmen people.
Works by Aykhan Hajiyev, which became part of the golden fund of Turkmen fine arts, were demonstrated during the work of the scientific-practical conference.
