The «Ashgabat» football players continued their winning streak in the Turkmenistan championship among major league clubs, beating Mary «Energetik» 2:1 in the opening match of the 11th round.

The game took place at the capital's «Nisa» stadium.

Before that, Seyit Seyidov’s winners won the capital’s derby on the opponent’s field against «Kopetdag» - 2:0 and it seemed they should have easily prevailed over «Energetik», which has been performing unsuccessfully this season.

However, the guests were determined to play, and in the 35th minute, Resul Chopanov, connecting with a cross from the right flank, brought «Energetik» ahead - 1:0.

The home team only managed to turn the tide of the game at the end of the match. In the 79th minute, Shatlyk Gurbanov restored the balance – 1:1. And after another five minutes, Yenish Seydiyev accurately fired a low shot from outside the penalty area into the corner to the goalkeeper’s left, setting the final score.

Having won a strong-willed victory, Ashgabat rose to fifth place with 13 points. And «Energetik», having suffered its ninth defeat, closes the standings with 1 point.

In the next round, Ashgabat will play away against «Merv» on the 4th of May, and «Energetik» will host «Kopetdag» on that day.

The 11th round of the Turkmenistan football championship will end with the matches: «Ahal» - «Merv», «Nebitchi» - «Shagadam» and «Altyn Asyr» - «Arkadag».
