A number of important events, a unique colour to which numerous events on the occasion of the national holiday of Turkmen horse added, marked the past week. The swift and world famous Akhal-Teke horse became a live embodiment of indissoluble link of times and generations as well as an embodiment of that creative energy, with which independent neutral Turkmenistan confidently moves ahead to new achievements and heights of the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State.
On April 22, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an online working meeting to consider the course of seasonal field activities.
The main emphasis was made on priority areas of conducted agricultural campaigns, in particular, timely completion of cotton sowing, appropriate care of wheat and other crops, proper conduction of the season of harvest of cocoons of silkworm.
At the same time, the President of Turkmenistan instructed related authorities to hold fulfilment of the goals outlined in programs of social and economic development of the country as well as organisation of preventive actions connected with possibility of fire because of warming under unrelenting control.
On April 24, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom David Cameron.
During the meeting, the head of the state underlined the role of neutrality in the foreign policy of Turkmenistan and expressed gratitude to the British side for support of the initiatives, in particular, the recently adopted Resolution «2025 - the International year of peace and trust» put forward by our country within the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Interlocutors discussed prospects of development of cooperation in the sphere of trade, oil and gas branch, agriculture and new technologies. They also noted available possibilities for interaction in issues of climate change and "green" growth, readiness for activization of cultural dialogue and partnership in the area of education.
Topical aspects of the state life were discussed at the regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on April 25.
It considered topics - further perfection of national legislative-legal basis, introduction of digital system in various branches, including in the pension fund at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, realisation of appropriate measures in agriculture, building of new establishments of education sphere in the capital residential area «Çoganly».
The information on organisation of upcoming actions in May on the occasion of holidays and significant dates of the national was delivered.
At the end of the meeting of the Government, the head of Turkmenistan, having congratulated its participants and all compatriots on the national holiday of Turkmen horse, underlined, as henceforth in our country all conditions for development of horse breeding at world level will be created.
Within the celebrations in honour of the graceful and fleet-footed "paradise" horses, which took place with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the Aba Annayev International Academy of Horse Breeding on April 27, there was held the ceremony of awarding of winners of the International competition «Ýylyň iň owadan ahalteke bedewi» and thematic competition among representatives of creative arts.
On behalf of residents of velayats of the country, military and law enforcement bodies, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was presented with as gift with wonderful horses and from residents of Arkadag city and horse breeders of the settlement named after Aba Annayev of Kyarizek etrap of the new city - magnificent foal was given.
Arkadagly Hero Serdar named the fast baby foal Ylham as the foal born in the year, the motto of which is «Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» and, following the noble tradition, tied on its neck a symbol-amulet alaja, weaved by skilful hands of his mother Ogulgerek eje.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to elders of velayats, who take part in celebrations, all horse breeders, who made a huge contribution throughout the glorious history of "heavenly" horses.
The magnificent racing horses presented to the head of the state were transferred to Aba Annayev International Academy of Horse Breeding.
The final of the international competition «Ýylyň iň owadan ahalteke bedewi» became one of highlights of festive events.
The main prize on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov - keys to the car of mark «Toyota Highlander», a challenge cup and the diploma were given to the instructor of magnificent seven-year-old Gadymy, which won the title of the most beautiful racing horse of 2024.
Prizes on behalf of the head of the state were also given to winners of creative competition on artistic realisation of unique natural charm and beauty of horses in art.
The faculty of the given Academy, scientists of the research and production centre of horse breeding as well as horse breeders of Arkadag city were handed keys to new apartments in the modern apartment houses erected in the new city and designed for 120 families.
The main events on the occasion of the national holiday of Turkmen horse with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took place on April 28 in the International Akhal-Teke horse-racing complex.
Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation who specially visited our country these days, became the guest of honour of celebrations.
During the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with the head of Tatarstan, the present condition and prospects of further interaction taking into account interests of national economies and wide experience of long-term teamwork within the realisation of several large-scale projects were discussed. Fruitful cultural-humanitarian cooperation, including that one in the scientific-education sphere was especially marked.
In the territory of the complex, which was transformed into an ancient Turkmen settlement during the holiday, with all its vital way, the exhibition of national crafts and arts, artworks was developed. Musicians and folklore groups performed and wrestlers of the goresh competed there.
Horse races which lasted for over two hours for various distances where racing horses displayed the best sports qualities, playfulness, became the brightest event of the day and tough combat for prizes from leading economic complexes of the country.
In the final, the seventh round there was an intense struggle for the main prize of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and challenge cup.
Besides it, there was held the award giving ceremony on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to winners of festive racing courses as well as the marathon and competitions in show jumping held the past week.
On completion of celebrations in the International Akhal-Teke horse-racing complex, the meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedova with Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov took place.
The guest conveyed Hero-Arkadag warm greetings and congratulations from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, having noted traditionally friendship between the countries, based on cultural and spiritual commonality of people as well as principles of mutually beneficial partnership.

According to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, four horse breeders of the country who distinguished themselves, for big achievements and honest work in development of horse-breeding industry and popularisation of racing horses at the international level, the honorary title «Türkmenistanyň at gazanan atşynasy» were conferred upon.
The XVI International Scientific Conference “Turkmen Horse and the World Art of Horse Breeding” was held at the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annayev in the city of Arkadag.
In their speeches, participants pointed out that "heavenly" horses are a unique cultural property of Turkmen people, who have brought a big contribution to the treasury of universal values. A huge role belongs in development of world horse-breeding art to the phenomenal breed, the cradle of which was the ancient fertile land of Akhal thousands of years ago.
National horse breeders, continuing the noble tradition of our glorious ancestors, carry out a great deal of work on preservation of purity of the breed and increase in the total number of elite livestock of legendary "paradise" racing horses. All over the country modern horse breeding centres where all conditions for reproduction of the breed are created, were built. Traditional national horse games and equestrian sport also developed actively.
The past week National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met the Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Michael Harms.
During the meeting, importance of the road map of strategic cooperation, which includes projects in the field of energy, chemical industry, agrarian and industrial complex, transport corridor between Europe and China, «green transformation», modernisation of water management and many other concrete issues developed in the past year between Turkmenistan and Germany, was marked. In the given context, intention of the parties to continue cooperation with a view of promotion of trade and economic relations and attraction of new investments to the Turkmen market was confirmed.
National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the city of Arkadag where he visited the modern stable intended for maintenance Akhal-Teke horses.
There, Hero-Arkadag had a talk with Director of the German horse breeding company “Jeýkob Ferdezuçt GBR,” member of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Ms. Katarina-Irena Anne-Margarita Jacob (Federal Republic of Germany) about distinctive qualities of Akhal-Teke horses generated as a result of laborious work of our wise ancestors, their unsurpassed art transferred from generation to generation.
During the conversation, a dynamical character of Turkmen-German cooperation including a wide spectrum of areas, including horse breeding, was underlined.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people also met sportsmen of football club "Arkadag" who had training at the stadium of the multi-purpose sports complex of the new city.
Having taken an interest in the spirit of football players, material and technical basis of the team, Hero-Arkadag underlined that the state will make henceforth all efforts for development of national sports, including football, its development at the world level.

The past week in Paris, The exhibition “Magtymguly Fragi and the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan” with exhibits from the funds of the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan was opened at the UNESCO headquarters and it was jointly organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to UNESCO, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
Within the creative action, the concert of workers of art and culture, display of traditional Turkmen costumes, tasting of national dishes took place. There was also held the scientific conference dated to the 30th anniversary of activity of the Turkmen-French archaeological group.
The capital museum of fine arts became a fair ground and conferences «Pyragydan ruhlanan ussat», devoted to the 100th birthday anniversary of the national artist of Turkmenistan, Professor Ayhan Hajiyev. Colleagues and students of Ayhan Hajiyev, artists, students of profile educational institutions of the country and visitors from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan took part in the solemn ceremony of opening of the exhibition.
At the conference, it was noted that the master referred to the image of the founder of Turkmen classical literature Magtymguly Fragi repeatedly. The artist made also initial portraits of Dovletmammet Azady, Mollanepes, Zelili, Seydi and images of contemporaries: actors, artists, workers, and veterans of the Second World War, art workers and masters of the arts.
Besides it, it concerned cultural contact among artists, generality of art currents in painting of the 1950-80-ties, and formation of national schools of painting in Central Asia. As speakers underlined, significance of creativity of Ayhan Hajiyev comes beyond the limits of our country and deserves further all-round study.
In the city of Turkmenabat the international scientific-practical conference «Ancient fortress of Amul: keeper of secrets of the past» was held. The forum was devoted to inclusion of the fortress of Amul in the UNESCO List of the World Heritage as object of nomination «Great Silk road: Zarafshan-Kara Kum corridor».
Turkmen and foreign historians, archaeologists, ethnographers and orientalists from Great Britain, the Russian Federation, and Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan took part in the conference.
Delegates of the forum visited the site of ancient settlement of Amul, familiarised with exhibits of the history and local lore museum of Lebap velayat.
In their speeches, they underlined that Turkmenistan carries out a large-scale work on preservation of historical, cultural, and natural values, which are an integral part of world civilisation for future generations. Being a national property, ancient monuments reflect spiritual-historical experience of people, landmarks of Turkmen statehood.
Participants of the forum supported the further promotion of historical objects of Turkmenistan located along the Great Silk road, their inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Issues of interaction of our country with this structure of the United Nations, expansion of international scientific relations, possibilities of cooperation in digital projects and information interchange were mentioned.
Thus, events of the past week displayed efficiency of many-sided activity of head of the state Serdar Berdimuhamedov to augment not only the economic power of the country and well-being of its people, but also the cultural-spiritual treasury and heritage of our great ancestors.
