Concert of beginner guitarists dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Islam Babayev was held

The name of Islam Babayev is firmly inscribed in the history of Turkmen musical art. By opening classical guitar classes at the music school and conservatory, he managed to make a significant contribution to the formation and development of the national guitar school.

Annually, in memory of the outstanding guitarist, his followers hold a guitar music festival, where the main stage is provided for young musicians taking their first steps in mastering the instrument.

For students of music schools, performing in the Small Hall of the M. Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory is always a great responsibility. Among the guests in the hall there are maestros and professors of the creative university.

Young guitarists, studying under the guidance of experienced mentors, once again successfully demonstrated their musical skills.

The concert program consisted mainly of Turkmen national melodies - "Nar agajy", "Çoh derde goýan ýarym", "Meleguş" and others in arrangements for guitar.

The concert was opened by the work of Islam Babayev "Bahar heňi", performed by the students of the Special Music Boarding School at the TNC. Students of the capital's children's music schools No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5, as well as students of the Turkmen National Conservatory, also shone with their talents on stage.

The well-known works of Turkmen folk music are studied by the children according to a specially compiled collection, which is regularly replenished due to the activities of the senior lecturer of the TNC Myrat Gurbanov and the teacher of the 3rd  Ashgabat music school Leyli Nasyrova.

- Recently, we have completed work on an updated edition, which includes compositions by famous Turkmen composers Nury Halmamedov, Danatar Ovezov, Durdy Nuryev, Veli Akhmedov, Shamamet Byashimov. The collection of Turkmen folk melodies and pieces by Turkmen composers in arrangements for guitar is intended not only for solo performance, but also contains notes for duets, trios and quartets, - says Leyli Nasyrova.

The textbook was created with the aim of introducing young guitarists to the best samples of the Turkmen musical heritage, enriching their repertoire with folk music melodies and works of outstanding composers for further development of performing skills.
