Turkmenistan's karateka won 14 more medals at the Central Asian Championship in Samarkand

The athletes of Turkmenistan won 14 more medals - three gold, two silver and nine bronze - on the second day of the WKF Karate Championship of Central Asia in Samarkand.

On the top step of the podium for our team were: Gurbannazar Amandurdyev (cadet kumite up to 52 kg), 9th grade student of the 16th secondary school of Ak Bugday etrap of Akhal velayat; Jora Ovezmyradov (cadet kumite up to 57 kg), 10th grade student of the Ashgabat specialized secondary school No. 52; and Davut Nazmyradov (kumite, up to 21 years old, up to 75 kg), 3rd year student of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The silver medalists were: Perkhat Atamyradov (cadet kata 14-15 years old), 9th grade student of the 8th secondary school of Geokdepe etrap of Akhal velayat; and Aygul Esenova (kata, among girls up to 21 years old), 1st year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.

And the bronze medals were awarded to: Serdar Jumanov (cadet kumite up to 57 kg), 9th grade student of the 14th secondary school of the city of Turkmenbashi; Allanur Yalkabov (cadet kata 14-15 years old), 9th grade student of secondary school No. 50 in Ashgabat; Rustam Puhanov (kata, up to 21 years old), 1st year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction; Amangeldi Atayev (cadet kumite up to 70 kg), 10th grade student of the Ashgabat specialized secondary school No. 42; Rasul Atajanov (kumite, up to 21 years old, up to 55 kg), 1st year student of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan; Shatlyk Gurbanov (kumite, up to 21 years old, up to 55 kg), 2nd year student of the M. Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory; Ogulsuray Tachdurdyeva (kumite among girls up to 21 years old, up to 55 kg), 2nd year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports; Dayanch Keletliev (kumite, up to 21 years old, up to 60 kg), 2nd year student of the Military Institute named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan; Kuvvatgeldi Berdiyev (cadet kumite up to 63 kg), 10th grade student of Ashgabat secondary school No. 142.

Earlier, on the first day of the competition, Turkmen karate athletes won 7 medals: one gold, two silver and four bronze.

More than 800 athletes from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are participating in the 9th WKF Karate Championship of Central Asia, competing for medals in kata (formal exercise demonstration) and kumite (sparring) disciplines in various age categories.
