Volleyball players of the Turkmenistan national team reached the finals of the Central Asian Nations League (CAVA) taking place in Islamabad (Pakistan) with the participation of six teams. This was determined after Serdar Tachnazarov’s team took 2nd place in the round-robin tournament.
At the first stage of the competition, Turkmen volleyball players lost to the teams of Iran - 2:3 and Pakistan - 1:3 and won against the teams of Kyrgyzstan - 3:0, Afghanistan - 3:1 and Sri Lanka - 3:0.
In the decisive match for the main trophy, the Turkmenistan national team will play with the hosts of the site - the volleyball players of Pakistan, who took first place in the round-robin competition.
The tournament, which takes place under the auspices of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA), includes teams from Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka.
The CAVA Nations League is significant as it will be integrated into the world ranking system starting next year in 2025. This increase highlights the growing competitiveness of volleyball in the Central Zone.
