The current year is marked by the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's Artist of Turkmenistan Aykhan Hajiyev. On the occasion of this significant date, a creative meeting of junior school students with Mollanepes Hajiyev, the son of the distinguished artist, took place in the assembly hall of the secondary school No. 15 in Ashgabat.
A representative of the renowned family shared the story of his father's development as an artist. During the interaction, the children learned about the creation of the canonical portrait of Magtymguly Fragi and other significant paintings by the artist.
Impressed by the interesting facts from the artist's biography and creativity, the schoolchildren eagerly asked Mollanepes Hajiyev about his father's preferred materials, sources of inspiration and techniques used.
The artist's son shared his memories and knowledge with pleasure, telling the children that family members, relatives, neighbors and acquaintances often served as models for his father's famous paintings. The artist himself would sometimes ask to be photographed in character to more accurately depict the portrayed hero.
To visually present the artist's personality, the meeting organizer - elementary school teacher Svetlana Mokrousova - set up displays showcasing his drawings and photographs capturing the master in the creative process.
"We held such a creative meeting for the first time, where not only children but also their parents could attend," says Svetlana Viktorovna. "The main goal was to introduce the younger generation to the invaluable heritage of our people - the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi, which is especially important in the year celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classic poet and great thinker. And, of course, to acquaint them with the personality of the artist Aykhan Hajiyev, whose artistic work shaped the artistic image of the literary genius for us."
