The Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, together with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), held a two-day seminar on the digitalization of trade procedures.
The seminar was held within the framework of the ongoing joint project «Strengthening the trade potential of Turkmenistan, Phase II».
International expert Anahit Smbatyan introduced the participants to the necessary tools for developing trade in a competitive environment, methods of trade liberalization within the framework of multilateral economic cooperation.
In this regard, the expert spoke about how digitalization can simplify trade procedures, in particular through the use of a «single window for export-import transactions» system, which is designed to increase the efficiency of international trade.
Participants also learned about the role of the World Trade Organization in regulating trade and facilitating the development of international trade. The WTO promotes the development of the national economy and the national market of each country that is part of this organization.
