Turkmen Agricultural Institute announced results II Internet Olympiad in Genetics, held by the university among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan.

Four students won first places in the Olympiad – Gozel Mirieva (Turkmen Agricultural Institute), Ibraim Guvanchmuhammedov (Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly), Bakhargul Berdieva (Engineering Technological University of Turkmenistan named after Oguzkhan) and Shatlyk Tekaev (State Medical University Turkmenistan named after M. Garryev).

8 second and 12 third places were received by students of these universities, and also the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annaev, Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov and the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi.

The winners of the competition were awarded diplomas from the respective degrees from the Turkmen Agricultural Institute.

In general, at the Olympiad they demonstrated their knowledge in the field genetics students from eight universities in the country. The participants were thematic issues and tasks are proposed, the solution of which 90 minutes were allotted.

The competition was held with the aim of stimulating youth interest in studying various areas of genetics, introducing growing specialists for large-scale work in the field agriculture by selection to improve existing and obtaining new highly productive plant varieties, breeds animals, strains of microorganisms.

The competition allowed us to evaluate theoretical knowledge and practical skills of students, their level of professional preparation, identify the most talented and capable students, and also strengthen interaction between students and teachers of higher educational institutions in the field of science and education, exchange of experience and useful scientific information.
