Farmers of Dashoguz velayat are conducting a responsible campaign on surrendering silkworm cocoons these days. Due to climatic conditions, the rearing of silkworm caterpillars here begins a little later than in other regions of the country.

However, thanks to the accumulated experience in the production of valuable raw materials and strict compliance with all sanitary and technical requirements, silkworm breeders annually achieve high indicators in the procurement of valuable raw materials for the domestic textile industry.

Good results are demonstrated by farmers in Shavat etrap, where dozens of tons of cocoons have already been delivered to date. It should be recalled that this etrap is a major producer of this raw material in the region, and it is planned to procure 184 tons of it here this year. Silkworm breeders in Gorogly etrap are also actively supplying cocoons, whose contractual obligations amount to 80 tons.

In total, 500 tons of cocoons are planned to be procured in the velayat this year. Many tenants were involved in their production. The presence of all necessary conditions and a good forage base contributes to the successful development of sericulture in Dashoguz velayat.

The comprehensive support provided by the state to producers is a guarantee of the successful realization of the high potential of sericulture in the northern region of the country.
