The International Scientific and Practical Conference “Architecture is a man-made art in construction” was held at the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan in the Turkmen capital.

The representative forum organised by the Ministry of Education jointly with Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, was timed to the 300th birthday anniversary of the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi, which is widely celebrated this year and to upcoming Day of Science.

Heads and professors of the largest specialized universities from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, the Russian Federation, Turkiye and other countries, as well as representatives of international organizations and well-known construction companies operating in Turkmenistan were invited to participate in the conference held in the hybrid format. 

Before the opening of the plenary session, its participants familiarised themselves with the exhibition, main exhibits of which included interesting architectural projects and breadboard models, which make one take a look anew at the future of our fatherland, further development of its cities and villages in the shapes of which  original ideas and plans of talented young architects will find their reflexion.

The impressing exposition panorama became an evident illustration of consecutive implementation of the large-scale town-planning policy initiated by National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag and successfully continued under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The gathered expressed sincere admiration of modern Turkmenistan, which draws attention not only with its glorious history of thousands of years, but also with its modern wonderful look.

As was marked in the forum, a definite role is given in the construction sphere for realisation of important programs of social and economic development of the country in which hundreds of technological and welfare projects are annually erected and reconstructed.

Grandiose building activities carried out all over our fatherland - a visual evidence of success of the state socially oriented policy aimed at maintenance of peaceful and happy life of Turkmen nationals as well as development of necessary infrastructure corresponding to international standards in urban and rural areas.

Thanks to the huge capital investments, the favourable investment climate created in the country, adopted effectual measures of the state to support local business, today even in the most remote regions in shortest terms majestic architectural ensembles, modern office buildings, comfortable houses, large manufacturing enterprises equipped by the latest technologies are erected.

White marble coated Ashgabat, which more and more affirms as the status of one of the most beautiful and comfortable cities of the world, became an evident acknowledgement of the growing power of Turkmenistan and success of cardinal transformations. 

The unique shape of the Turkmen capital, which changes day by day, evokes genuine admiration and serves as reflexion of existing a high dynamics of social and economic development of our state, rich history and cultural traditions of Turkmen people.

Annually the magnificent architectural ensemble of the central city of the country «grows» with new original buildings and constructions, which become unique «hallmark» of modern Turkmenistan.

At the same time, the great attention is given to complex development of all regions that displays a responsible approach of the state to modern amenities of life in rural areas and its conformity to standards of comfort in urban areas.

Participants of the conference placed special emphasis on the architectural and design solution of projects erected in our country, which organically combine primordially national traditions of Turkmen architecture and the advanced tendencies of world town-planning, testifying that the national construction branch keeps up to date, making proper use of the best international experience.

So, the «smart» city of Arkadag, an example of organic synthesis of innovative architectural-building solutions and digital technologies became an integral symbol of the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State.

The construction of the «smart city» that has no analogue in the region became an indicator of economic viability of the Turkmen state, its tendency to heights of scientific and technical progress.

Arkadag city, which has obtained on a legislative basis a special legal status – city of state significance, according to numerous delegates of the forum, became a new chapter in the world town-planning industry. The complex infrastructure created there answering to high international standards, including in nature protection sphere, provides optimum comfort and convenience to people, happiness and well-being of whom was and remains an invariable priority of the state policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan.

In this connection, speakers in their papers noted that, according to shown requirements, at building and decoration of all buildings erected in the country and constructions from exclusively high-quality materials, the majority of which are made on the basis of local raw materials, are used. At their selection environmental conditions, conformity to ecological norms, durability and convenience in application are necessarily considered.

The special attention was focused on the topic of the rich and many-sided heritage of Turkmen people, who presented to the world the unique cultural-historical monuments, which became an example of the most ancient architectural art testifying to the great skill of local builders.

The fact of inclusion of famous Turkmen monuments - Ancient Merv, Koneurgench and Nisa in the UNESCO World Heritage List visually testifies to the international recognition of the highest value of these objects.

Many foreign participants of the forum devoted their papers to traditions and features of architectural art of the people, innovations of modern town-planning and the latest technological solutions actively introduced in different countries.

Topical issues raised during discussion connected with formation of the comfortable city environment, landscape design as well as increase of efficiency of education of architecture and construction, preparation of future specialists of high level evoked a heightened interest.

Taking an opportunity, the gathered expressed their sincere gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Hero-Arkadag for high-level organisation of the international forum in which detailed exchange of opinions on ways of further development and new areas of architectural art took place.

The conference proceeded in four sections, titles of which define subjects of planned discussions: «Architectural innovations, new materials and technologies», «Prospects of development of education of architecture and construction», «Preservation of identity and historical and cultural heritage», «Issues of sustainable development of cities».

Papers and scientific articles of participants of the forum were included into separately published collection.

An extensive cultural program including sightseeing tours and acquaintance with new buildings and main sights of Ashgabat and Arkadag cities was arranged for guests.
