Scientific and educational cooperation between Turkmen and Astrakhan universities

Rector of the Astrakhan State Technical University Alexander Nevalenny invited the leadership of universities in Turkmenistan to take part in the next General Assembly of the Association of Universities and Research Centres of the Caspian Countries, which will be held at ASTU, and students - in the upcoming Universiade «Caspian Games».

The invitation was announced during a meeting with the head of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan, Gadam Ilamanov. During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of developing further cooperation between the Astrakhan university and Turkmenistan, training specialists, in particular, in the fields of fisheries and the oil and gas industry. The Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly is among the founders of the public association of universities and research organizations of the Caspian basin countries from Turkmenistan.

The Association considers it important to involve young people and students in solving the problems of the Caspian Sea, to unite them on the basis of the goals and humane principles proclaimed by the Association. About 600 athletes from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are expected to participate in the Universiade «Caspian Games» in Astrakhan this year.

Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation have long-standing and fruitful cooperation in the field of education. Cooperation agreements are in force with five educational organizations of Turkmenistan, in cooperation with which active joint scientific activities are carried out. The prospects for Turkmen-Russian scientific and educational cooperation were discussed at the end of April during a visit by a delegation of the Astrakhan State Technical University of the Turkmen side headed by Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Amanov, who was also invited to take part in the business program of the General Assembly of the Association of Universities and Research Centres of the Caspian Littoral Countries.
