The Week of Culture 2024 has ceremoniously begun in the city of Arkadag, coinciding with the celebration of the Day of Culture and Art Workers, as well as the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi.

One of the highlights of the creative festival, concluding the first day of the "cultural marathon," was the premiere of the theatrical production "Älem nury" at the Aman Gulmammedov State Drama Theater.

A large team worked on the performance, including director Bagtyyar Abayev, wordsmith and People's Writer of Turkmenistan Govshutgeldi Danatarov, young playwright Abdylazim Rejepov, and People’s and Honored Artists of the country.

The metaphorical play, narrating the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi, addresses spiritual and moral values through the prism of the great Turkmen poet's fate. The eternal theme of good versus evil remains a subject for reflection across all times and peoples.

"Älem nury" ("Light of the Universe") is the fourth production by Bagtyyar Abayev and the young collective of the Aman Gulmammedov State Drama Theater. Actor Didar Kovusov took on the role of the national poetry genius.

– This is a mass performance that involves almost the entire troupe of our theater, – says director Bagtyyar Abayev. – It was important for us to convey to the viewer the idea of the heroism of Magtymguly Fragi and the special significance of his poetic legacy for future generations.

The new performance was warmly received by guests and participants of the Week of Culture.

Audiences can look forward to the premiere of the theatrical-circus performance "Göroglynyň döreýşi," a promising collaboration between actors of the Aman Gulmammedov State Drama Theater and artists from the Gorogly State Equestrian Circus.
