Turkmenistan will begin transiting cargo via the new Rasht-Caspian railway. This was announced by Miad Salehi, the CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways.
Starting next week, sulfur from Turkmenistan will be transported along this route. It will be delivered from the port of Turkmenbashi to the port of Caspian and then by rail through Iran.
The Rasht-Caspian railway, which is part of the International North-South Transport Corridor, connects the Caspian Sea with the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It also links the north and south of the country.
