Mihai Eminescu was born in 1850 into a large family in town of Botosani. Mihai was sent to study at the gymnasium in administrative center of Bukovina, where teaching was conducted in German language. Without finishing his studies at the gymnasium, Eminescu goes to study in Vienna, where he studies at the university philology, philosophy and jurisprudence.
In 1872-1874 he wrote the poems “The Emperor and Proletarian" and "Angel and Demon". In the autumn of 1872, the poet moves to Berlin, where he attends a series of lectures at the Berlin University. During this period his work was dominated by love theme. He is called the last poet in Europe - romantic. Eminescu's translations from his works have been preserved philosophers Kant and Confucius.
For some time Eminescu worked as a secondary school teacher, librarian and school director. In 1877 Eminescu completed his greatest work - the poem "Luchafair", over which he worked for more than eight years.
His first book of poems was published in 1883. After this name Eminescu became famous. In 1889, Eminescu died of a heart attack. to the greatest the Romanian poet was then 39 years old.
