The Turkmenistan delegation, consisting of representatives from the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, took part in the eighth CAREC Think Tank Development Forum titled "The Climate Challenge: Thinking Beyond Borders for Collective Action."
The event was attended by over 120 representatives from regional think tanks, CAREC member countries, universities, development organizations and the media. The goal of the meeting was to jointly seek solutions to escalating climate problems through coordinated regional strategies.
Speakers at the Forum emphasized the need for unity in facing the growing impacts of climate change, advocating for the exchange of experiences, challenges and successes to ensure a sustainable, resilient and prosperous future for the CAREC region. Participants discussed successful examples of climate change adaptation in different countries, highlighting the importance of government, local community and public organization involvement in developing effective climate policies.
The Turkmen delegation presented "Innovation and Climate Change Adaptation in Turkmenistan," sharing the country's experiences and constructive proposals for addressing climate issues, and answered questions from forum participants. Overall, the discussions among experts, opinion leaders and development partners focused on the role of innovative technologies in mitigating and adapting to climate change. Participants stressed the potential of rapid technological progress and the urgent need to create a favorable regional ecosystem for climate solutions.
The forum featured presentations, panel discussions, case studies and interactive sessions aimed at fostering dialogue and developing effective strategies to enhance climate resilience in the CAREC region.
