Turkmenistan gets ready to mark the 33rd anniversary of its sacred independence. Following traditions, the country meets the significant date with labour victories, opening of architectural projects and achievements in all spheres of life. The events of the past week clearly attest to the success of the policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in solution of strategic goals of state building in the year «The Fount of wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi».
On August 26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Dragon Oil” Company Saeed Al Tayer.
During the meeting, possibilities of developing successful partnership were discussed taking into account the rich experience of joint work and grandiose plans of Turkmenistan for development of the fuel and energy complex.
On August 30, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which he summed up the work, carried out for seven months of the current year as well as considered issues of social and economic development of the country.
The head of the state stated that results of seven months of the year display success of realised programs. The rate of increase of gross national product, which for the considered period made up 6,3 percent, testifies clearly to the fact. In the industrial complex this indicator is equal to 3,6 percent, transport-communication sector - 7,1 percent, in the sphere of services - 7 percent, trade - 7,8 percent, building - 9,3 percent, agriculture - 7,8 percent. In the specified period, the country solemnly opened large industrial and social projects.
The President of Turkmenistan underlined importance of work on maintenance of rates of increase of national economy and instructed to keep control over the process of modernisation of the industrial sphere.
At the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on construction of gas-compressor station «Şatlyk-1» of "Türkmengaz" State Concern with a view of realisation of the projects, concerning objects, significant for delivery of Turkmen natural gas to the world market.
The head of Turkmenistan also blessed the start of wheat sowing in regions on September 4, having wished diligent grain-growers and agriculturists big successes in their work.
Having made an emphasis on upcoming numerous events in September, the head of the state instructed to take a responsible approach to their preparation and to ensure their high organizational level.
The new academic year 2024-2025 by tradition started with the opening of important construction projects held both in the country and abroad.
So, in the capital with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov a solemn opening of a new white marble coated complex of buildings of the specialized military school named after Berdimuhamet Annayev of the Ministry of Defence of Turkmenistan took place. Its stone laying ceremony was held with participation of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on January 27, 2022 and was timed to Day of defenders of the Fatherland.
In the new educational institution all conditions and possibilities for education of erudite younger generation of defenders of our native land, development of their abilities and talents, development of skills of various military trades are created.
The complex of buildings includes an innovative museum equipped with advanced digital technologies, electronic library, educational and administration buildings, a conference hall for 1000 persons.
At the service of cadets of the school – classrooms intended for tactical combat training and for employment of robotics. In the sports section there is a laser-training hall, a premise for target practice as well as training apparatus-simulator «Bodyflight» for development of skills of management of parachute.
The comprehensive secondary school named after Magtymguly for 540 schoolchildren in «Ergesh Sultanov» farm association in the district of Dusti of Hatlonski region of the Republic of Tajikistan took a special place in series of openings of new projects on Day of Knowledge and Student Youth. Heads of two countries - Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon took an online part in their solemn opening ceremony.
Constructed at the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people by Turkmen builders, an educational complex with a total area of over 4300 square metres is a symbol of friendship and brotherhood of peoples of two countries.
On the occasion of this significant event on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag at the expense of Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov 100 laptops of mark «Bilimli» and bus "Toyota Coaster" were donated to the new school.
In various regions of the country, opening ceremonies of several new secondary schools and preschool centres where all conditions for harmonious education, all-round intellectual and physical development of the rising generation are provided, took place. In the specialized educational complex № 1 in Arkadag city a training centre for robotics was opened.
The first lesson of the new academic year was devoted to the theme «The Fount of wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» as well as to forthcoming celebration of the 33rd anniversary of sacred independence of Turkmenistan. On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag computers "Bilimli" were given as gift to all first-formers of the country.
That very day the capital city hosted an opening ceremony of a new complex of buildings of Ashgabat city khyakimlik with participation of the head of Turkmenistan. The new complex houses the pension fund, department of labour and employment, departments of education and culture.
During his familiarization with the conditions created there, the head of the state visited a premise of operation control centre of video surveillance. Its work is completely automated. Video surveillance in the parks located in Ashgabat is carried out by means of the computers equipped with the special modern program.
In the department of comprehensive secondary education of the complex, the President of Turkmenistan was informed on possibilities of digital platform eMekdep. With its help, parents can familiarise with progress of their children, attendance, themes of lessons, homework and their marks. It promotes organisation of educational process at schools, progress of schoolchildren, analysis of the learnt material and estimation of knowledge, ensuring of individual educational consultations.
The complex also houses a conference hall for 300 persons, more than 110 office rooms with all conveniences, a canteen for 120 persons as well as technical facilities.
Thanks to successful realisation under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the city planning program started by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, our capital strengthens its positions among the most convenient cities.
Turning to other events of the past week, we should note that on August 27, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Honourable elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the city of Arkadag. The National Leader of the Turkmen people showed an interest in the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the course of the further development of the city as well as work carried out to improve the health of the growing generation.
In the headquarters of the Charitable Foundation, Arkadag held a working meeting where one was informed on the work carried out by profile structures and developed programs this year. The special attention was given to issues of further improvement of work of the Charitable Foundation and goals for future.
The past week telephone conversation took place between National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The sides discussed the current condition and prospects of development of interstate cooperation in trade and economic and fuel and energy spheres. An emphasis was made on adopted measures on full use of transport-transit potential of two countries.
The issues connected with realisation of earlier reached agreements and possibilities of implementation of joint projects were also discussed.
On August 28, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in which he carried out negotiations with President Masoud Pezeshkian and Supreme Spiritual Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei.
During the meeting with the head of IRI a number of issues, concerning bilateral trade and economic relations, realisation of large-scale projects, basically those ones in the fuel and energy complex, in particular, in the gas sphere as well as development of interaction in the field of electric power industry and transport-communication sector were considered.
Besides it, vital topics of regional and world policy, representing mutual interest became a subject of matter.
President Masoud Pezeshkian conveyed the book “Worship of the Mother - Worship of the Shrine” by Hero-Arkadag translated into Farsi as a gift to the National Leader of the Turkmen people. The book is dedicated to the life path of Ogulabat eje and reveals important aspects of Turkmen mentality and immortal values playing an important role in education of patriotic and worthy citizens.
Having received it with profound gratitude, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out that he regards it as a costly present to the Turkmen people and as a sign of high respect of mothers.
Hero-Arkadag also expressed deep gratitude to the Iranian party for cultural events held on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of the great son of the Turkmen people, famous poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly in May of the current year. In this connection, the National Leader of the Turkmen people on his own behalf and on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan invited the President of Islamic Republic of Iran to take part in the international forum of heads of states and governments in honour of the 300th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, which will be held in Ashgabat on October 11, 2024.
Following the results of negotiations, the ceremony of signing of bilateral documents took place. They included: Programme of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the period of 2025-2026, Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmenbashi International Seaport of Turkmenistan and the Amirabad Port of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Sister Port Relationship, Memorandum of Understanding between the State Concern “Türkmengaz” and the National Gas Company of Iran on the Development of Cooperation in the Field of Natural Gas, Programme of Joint Activities on Deepening and Expansion of Future Cooperation between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration for the period of 2025-2026.
That very day, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei highly appreciated the level of centuries-old and dynamically developing relations in the present epoch between Turkmenistan and Iran, based on principles of friendship, brotherhood, good neighbourhood and mutual respect.
Interlocutors supported expansion of productive interaction, which possesses huge potential and wide prospects in various sectors, including in the cultural-humanitarian sphere.
On the sidelines of the working visit, bilateral meetings of members of the official delegation of Turkmenistan took place. Issues of further development of relations in such spheres, as the fuel and energy sphere, electric power industry, transport and communication as well as in the area of customs bodies became a subject of matter.
Throughout the review, we should mark that Turkmenistan prepares for the next meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty, which will take place on September 24 in the Palace «Maslakhat köşgi». The meeting will sum up the work carried out for the past period, define priority goals for the nearest and long-term future, and consider proposals for their solution.
In the past week, on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Mejlis received credentials from Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Mauritius, accredited to our country.
During meetings, diplomats were informed on basic areas of the internal and foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan as well as the activity of the Mejlis in the context of large-scale reforms.
The meeting of some Deputy-Chairmen of the Cabinet, heads of ministries and departments of our country with members of the Afghani delegation led by Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan Hidayatullah Badri, who visits Turkmenistan, took place in the conference hall of the capital hotel "Garagum".
The parties discussed current issues of partnership in the fuel and energy sphere, exchanged opinions on cooperation in the field of building and industry and underlined presence of big possibilities for increase in volumes of mutual goods turnover.
Following the results of the meeting, bilateral documents aimed at practical realisation of joint projects in spheres of power and transport were signed.
The day before the delegation of Afghanistan held a number of meetings where issues of expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in various branches as well as plans of realisation of large-scale projects were considered.
Ashgabat hosted negotiations on development of interaction in the fuel and energy complex between representatives of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamahmudov headed the delegation of the friendly country. During meetings, the special attention was given to search of new possibilities for deepening of partnership between two countries in the field of energy.
As a whole, events of the past week attested to reflexion of basic priorities of the state policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, called to provide further economic progress and prosperity of the country, well-being and happy life of our people in the new historical epoch.
