The fifth volume of the new edition of the book "Hatyra" has been published

The final, fifth volume of the book "Hatyra" ("Memory") is dedicated to the memory of soldiers who heroically fought in battles for the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, those who fell on the battlefields, died from their wounds in hospitals, and those who went missing.

The edition opens with a congratulatory address by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. As noted in the message of the head of state, from the very beginning of that relentless war, which lasted 1,418 days, our compatriots voluntarily went to the front, where they fought side by side with fraternal peoples on the fields of fierce battles, displaying unparalleled bravery and courage. The memories of the military valor of our glorious ancestors and the labor achievements of our compatriots are forever inscribed in golden letters in the annals of our Homeland.

The fifth volume of "Hatyra" pays tribute to the memory of Turkmen soldiers from Mary velayat. The introductory article describes their heroic feats in the name of honor, dignity and freedom of the Motherland.

According to available data, about 21,300 people from Mary velayat died or went missing during the Great Patriotic War. In this new edition, lists are arranged alphabetically of brave soldiers who went missing, heroically died on battlefields, were severely wounded, and did not return to their families.

Here are collected information from historical sources, letters of various content, photographs of soldiers, news published during the war years, and photographs of monuments erected in villages of Mary velayat.

In Turkmenistan, significant noble work is being carried out to convey to current and future generations the importance of this great victory in war and the feats of our compatriots who gave their lives for a peaceful and prosperous life. Archivists make a worthy contribution to this cause by participating directly in collecting historical materials and processing them for creating this book.

Prepared for publication by the Main Archive Department under the Cabinet of Ministers, the final, fifth volume of "Hatyra" is published by Turkmen State Publishing Service at a high typographical level and is intended for a wide readership.
